_1what have you learnt?
.the red apple is seen red because it absorbs all the colors of light that strike it and
.reflects the red one only .when the reflected red light bouncing back from the apple
.it strikes the red glass sheet, the red light transmits through the glass and reaches
.the eyes so you see the apple in red.
.When you look at the red apple through the green glass sheet, you will find that the
.green glass sheet doesn’t transmit the reflected red color bouncing back from the apple. .so the apple will appear with no color and seen to be black.
.you will get same result in case of using the blue glass sheet, too.
Thank! .What color is a piece of paper stuck by light transmitting though an orange glass sheet?
MIXING THE COLORED LIGHT
To study the effect of mixing the colored light we use three colored projector sets:
One produces red Light, the second produces green light and the third gives blue
When the three sets send out the light on a white screen, you will get three circular
Light spots: red, green and blue as indicated below.
_THE SEVEN LIGHT COLORS ARE:
Red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, violet
- When the seven light colors and mixed together, the white light is produced.
ACTIVITY
TOOLS: APIECE OF CONSTRUCTION WHITE PAPER_COLORS_SCISSORS_A PROTRACTOR.
STEPS: 1.CUT THE CONSTRUCION PAPER IN A SHAPE OF A DIVIDE BY USING SCISSORS.
2. Divide the disk into seven equal parts by using the protractor.
3. Color the disk with the same order of spectrum colors.
4. Bore a small hole at the center of the disk then pass your pencil through it.
5. Rotate the disk quickly.
Observation:-
THE COLORED DISK SEEMS WHITE.
INFERENCE
Mixing the seven light spectrum colors produce the white light
Seeing the colored transparent and colored translucent objects:
-The transparent and translucent objects allow light to pass through them.
- When the white light strikes the colored transparent or translucent objects, this object absorbs all colors of light and permits its own color only to pass through it.
So, the color of the transparent and translucent objects is the same color of the transmitted light through them.
Example: green transparent glass bottle.
. When you look at this glass bottle, it seems green in color.
The reason: because when the white light strikes the transparent green bottle the bottle absorbs all the light colors and allows the green light only to transmit though it.
2-seeing the colored opaque objects:
- the opaque objects don’t allow light to transmit through them
- the opaque objects are divided into :-
A) White object B) Black object C)Colored object
A)Seeing white light strikes the white opaque,
The object reflects all the light colors .
SO, the white opaque body appears with the same color of the light that falls on it .
B- Seeing the black opaque objects.
When white light strikes the black opaque object, this object absorbs all the light colors.
SO, the black object absorbs any light falls on .
GIVE REASON:-
• We can see the white paper as it is
Because the white paper reflects all the light colors.
• We see the blackboard as it is .
• We must wear black (dark) clothes in winter.
Because it absorbs all the light colors.
• Red light is a primary colored light .
Because it can’t be produced by mixing any of the other colored lights.
• Magenta is called a secondary colored light.
Because it is produced by mixing two of the primary colored lights which are red and blue
